Established as 25 Bombardment Group (Heavy), and activated on 1 Feb 1940. Redesignated as 25 Bombardment Group, Medium, on 7 May 1942. Disbanded on 20 Jun 1944. Reconstituted, and consolidated (19 Apr 1965) with the 25 Bombardment Group, Reconnaissance, which was established on 17 Jul 1944. Activated on 9 Aug 1944. Inactivated on 8 Sep 1945. Redesignated as 25 Tactical Reconnaissance Group, and activated, on 19 Apr 1965. Organized on 1 Jul 1965. Discontinued, and inactivated, on 1 Oct 1965. Consolidated (31 Jan 1984) with the 25 Tactical Reconnaissance Wing, which was established, and activated, on 24 Sep 1965. Organized on 1 Oct 1965. Discontinued, and inactivated, on 15 Oct 1966. Redesignated as 25 Attack Group on 13 Feb 2018. Activated on 27 Feb 2018. Redesignated as the 25th Attack Wing 18 Sep 2025.
